At JesusChatAI, we believe that privacy is a fundamental right. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Service. We are committed to transparency and to protecting the personal information you entrust to us.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide

  • Account Information: Email address and password when you create an account
  • Payment Information: Billing details processed securely through Stripe (we do not store full credit card numbers)
  • Communication: Messages you send to our support team

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Usage Data: Session duration, features used, and interaction patterns
  • Device Information: Browser type, operating system, device identifiers
  • Log Data: IP address, access times, pages viewed

1.3 Conversation Data

JesusChatAI does not store transcripts of your live conversations on our own servers.However, your conversations are processed in real time by third-party AI infrastructure providers in order to deliver the experience, and those providers may retain session data on their own systems subject to their respective terms:

  • Daily.co transports the live audio and video streams between your browser and our AI partner. Refer to their privacy policy for their handling of session metadata.
  • LemonSlice (Infinity AI, Inc. dba Lemon Slice) generates the AI avatar's responses from your audio. They may log or retain session data on their infrastructure for service operation, abuse prevention, and model improvement. We do not control their retention policies — please review LemonSlice's privacy policy directly before using the service.

Session recording on JesusChatAI is opt-in. You can choose to record a session from the chat interface. When you do, we store the resulting audio in encrypted object storage (Cloudflare R2) so you can replay it from your account. You can delete your recordings at any time from the Recordings page, which removes both the database record and the stored audio file.

If you would prefer that no audio of your conversation be processed by third parties, we recommend not using the live chat feature. The daily devotionals and the static pages of the site do not require any conversation processing.

1.4 Phone Numbers & SMS Consent

We collect a phone number only when you explicitly opt in to receive a prayer video link by SMS. The opt-in happens on the prayer creation form via an unchecked-by-default consent checkbox. When you opt in, we store:

  • The phone number you provide
  • A timestamp of when you gave consent
  • The IP address from which you submitted the form

These records exist solely as audit evidence for our SMS partner (Twilio) and applicable telecom regulations (10DLC). Phone numbers are never used for marketing, never sold, never shared with anyone outside our SMS infrastructure provider, and we do not send recurring messages. Each SMS we send to you is a one-time, transactional message containing a link to a prayer video you just created. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message we send, and reply HELP for help. Standard message and data rates may apply.

We do not contact recipients of your prayer videos directly. The link is delivered to you, and you forward it to the intended recipient via your own preferred messaging channel.

1.5 Prayer Videos & User-Generated Content

When you create a prayer video, we store the resulting video file in encrypted object storage along with the metadata you provided (sender name, recipient name, prayer prompt). Each prayer is associated with a private share token that is only known to you and anyone you choose to share it with. You can delete prayers from your account at any time, which removes both the database record and the video file from storage.

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide the Service: Enable real-time AI conversations and account management
  • Process Payments: Bill you accurately for usage through Stripe
  • Improve Our Service: Analyze usage patterns to enhance user experience
  • Communicate: Send service updates, security alerts, and support messages
  • Ensure Security: Detect, prevent, and address technical issues or abuse
  • Comply with Law: Meet legal obligations and respond to lawful requests

3. How We Share Your Information

We do NOT sell your personal information. We may share information with:

  • Service Providers: Trusted partners who help us operate (Stripe for payments, Daily.co for video, cloud hosting providers)
  • Legal Requirements: When required by law, court order, or governmental authority
  • Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets
  • With Your Consent: When you explicitly authorize sharing

4. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information:

  • All data transmitted between you and our Service is encrypted using TLS/SSL
  • Passwords are hashed using bcrypt and never stored in plain text
  • Access to personal data is restricted to authorized personnel only
  • We regularly review and update our security practices

While we strive to protect your information, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

You can access and update your account information at any time by logging into your account.

5.2 Account Deletion

You may request deletion of your account by contacting us at privacy@jesuschatai.com. We will delete your account and associated data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

5.3 Marketing Communications

You can opt out of marketing emails by clicking "unsubscribe" in any email or contacting us.

5.4 SMS Opt-Out

If you previously opted in to receive prayer video links by SMS, you can opt out at any time by replying STOP, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, or QUIT to any SMS we have sent you. You will receive a single confirmation message and will not be sent further messages. To resubscribe later, reply START from the same number, or simply opt in again on the prayer creation form. 5.5 California Residents (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to:

  • Know what personal information we collect about you
  • Request deletion of your personal information
  • Opt out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell your data)
